Obituary of Ray Janssens

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raynaldo (Ray) Alphonse Janssens, 78, of St. Thomas, Ontario on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Ray was born September 21, 1943 in Braine-L’Alleud, Belgium, the youngest child of Alphonse and Marguerite.

Ray immigrated to Canada in 1963, residing in London, Ontario for many years.  He was a long time employee of Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 2003.

Ray loved to read and to watch movies, most especially Science Fiction.  He also enjoyed watching boxing, and he never missed the news. Ray loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations RVing as well as countless road trips.

More than any of this Ray loved spending time with his family. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife Marie, his devoted children Cyndy (Jason), Michelle (Greg), Colleen, and Randy (Shauna), his beloved grandchildren, Jaime (Taylor), Sarah (Itai), Fletcher, Owen, Veronica, Sylvana and Ariya.  Ray will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Although no longer with us, he will always be in our hearts.

As per Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made in Ray’s name to the St. Thomas Library or to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
