Donna, Karen, Nadine, Kim, Dawn, Scott, and Jodi
Please accept my sincere condolences on learning of Alex' passing. My dad worked next door to the store in Glencoe and I believe spent many a coffee break in the store with Alex and Donna. Over time they both became friends and we would pack up in the car and head into Lambeth for a Sunday visit. We were witness to the easy going good nature and hospitality that he hosted in his soul. I'm sure he was a doting grandfather as well judging from his good nature around all of you. My last contact with Alex and Donna had to be about 10 years ago when I seen them passing through Glencoe.
Rest in Peace and God speed Alex.

Dear Donna and Family We are sorry to hear of Alex's passing and we send our deepest sympathy. We spent many hours together, playing cards on Saturday nights, weekend trips in the motor home and at Go Home Lake. Our east coast trip took us over to Newfoundland and as we are getting off the boat Alex yelled his favorite expresion "SON OF A MOOSE' they have a Tim Hortons here. Lots of happy memories we shared together.

Dear Donna, our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. We will always fondly remember Alex from his visits with you to see Kim and Dave at the Bay. He was never without a beaming smile and a good story or two to share when we stopped by. What a positive and resilient man, so proud of and so loved by his family. May your lifetime of happy memories together bring you peace and comfort.

My Dear Friend Donna (Mom), Karen, Kim, Nadine, Dawn, Scott & Jodie & your extended families;
I lived across from your Mom & Dad for 15 years on Miller Street. They saw me through many of my life’s perils. Through the passing of my beloved Simon and I believe after my many trips to hospital. They became my pseudo Mom & Dad. Your Dad replaced the carpeting in my truck after the milk leaked, What a stink that was! He helped fix my gutters & even climbed an extension ladder to affix a decorative motif at the peak on the front of my house. They had to look at it, and approved my choice. When Simon passed, food, refreshments & lawn chairs came from nowhere. But I know differently - they came from my Mom & Dad. I’ve know them since 2005, and there isn’t a better set of loving people, parents or friends in the world!
May My Dear Alex (Dad) Rest in Peace
Donna - I love you with all my heart! I WILL come and visit when you are ready.

May we offer our most sincere condolences to Donna, Kim, Dave and the rest of the Potter family. To us, Alex was always happy and grateful with a kind spirit and always a twinkle in his eyes and a spring in his step. We came to know and appreciate the friendship of Alex and Donna at Carefree Country Club in Florida. They were part of the early influx of Carefree settlers and embodied the spirit and volunteerism that made the community what it is today. Like Kim and Dave, we were second generation. If Alex and Donna weren't volunteering, they were golfing. A life of dreams for many. Alex suffered from "hard of hearing" as did some around him. From Donna's perspective, it was probably also a case of "hard of listening". He also knew how to "push" Donna's buttons. You will miss those buttons as you look back on your wonderful years together. Alex had the annoying habit of hitting his golf ball longer and straighter than Dave, with seemingly much less effort and frustration. Alex, here's hoping that your grass is always green, your drives long and straight, water hazards avoided and putts sunk with single stroke. The human body will seem to have a bottomless reservoir of tears but a heart that has been broken is a heart that was loved. To the Potter family, cherish the memories of a life that was loved and loved in return. We should all be so lucky in life as Alex. Cathy and Larry
