Dear Krebs Family,
I'm very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. I spent so many good hours at the Krebs house playing in the barns, helping Steve with some chores, eating dinner with the family and laughing and talking. Joe was a hardworking man but he always had a sense of humor and and a smile in his eyes. I still have fond memories of those times and being around this man.

Steve, and all the extended family,
Ed and I offer our condolences on the loss of your beloved family icon. He was a hardworking man, with a great sense of humour and a definite zest for life which he passed on to his family and friends. My eldest brother Karl Kovach played in a band with hm, Joe Schneider and others. Nice to see the photos posted. Great memories for your family to cherish.

Krebs Family,
So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing.
Joe was the best neighbor, friend, and entertainer the Gilchrist’s could have ever hoped for. He helped us out so much over the years it’s impossible to say thank you enough. Always always there to help. What a great guy. Joe knew more people than anybody due to his friendly personality! Lots of stories of his makes me laugh just thinking about them. At first, when I was little, I was a slightly apprehensive of him when he may have got slightly loud, but over the years I grew to love his straight talking presentation! And man, what a hard worker, I really admire him for that too. Big hug to you Alice. Love you all.

Alice - I just saw the announcement of Joe's passing. I am so very sorry to hear this. It brought back memories of Joe and I starting in the "band Business" with Joe S., Tom, Vic, Eldie and Carl Kovacs. We had bookings pretty well every week at different halls in the area, and I met Joy (my future wife) at the CBD hall in Chatham. The people really seemed to love our music. It was a real pleasure to know Joe, and play our music with him. I have posted a couple of pictures on my Facebook page...https://www.facebook.com/papamcbride

Joe Krebs was a community icon, no question. He brought so many people together with his gift of making the sweetest music this side of heaven (apologies to Guy Lombardo) . When I think of Joe, I think of earlier days. Of grandparents and large dances, big cars, tobacco, beer and and polka bands. All relics of a simpler time. I had a great visit with Joe at the coffee shop in West Lorne a few months ago. We talked about music. He remembered when I sang 'Can't Help Falling in Love' with his band many years ago. I'm glad we spoke. He reminded me of all of the good things that seem hard to find now. Bless you Joe, as you fade into the Starlight.......... Condolences to the Krebs family for your great loss.
